Support the NJDOE’s Assessment Waiver Application

After hearing from over 10,000 New Jersey Education Association members and parents, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) plans to submit an assessment waiver request to the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE). This submission will request “a one-year waiver of the requirements to administer the New Jersey statewide assessments, including: New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science; Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM); and ACCESS for ELLs.” In preparation for this submission, the NJDOE is seeking public comment by MAR. 5, 2021 at 5 p.m.

Have your voice heard!

With new guidance from the USDOE putting more pressure on states to justify their plans for this spring, it is more important than ever that the NJDOE submit a thoughtful, comprehensive waiver application that puts the needs of students first while the global pandemic still rages.

The deadline is approaching quickly! Please express your support for an assessment waiver to the NJDOE by the MAR. 5, 2021 at 5 p.m. deadline.
